My mom was going to get a Wii for my lil sis during the after Christmas sales. Do you think there will be any during that time? Will the only ones what will be taken back be the ones that had something wrong with them? Should we just buy a raincheck and call it a day

find out what itme of day they come in at walmart. malmart puts them out as soon as they come in. all the walmarts in the area receive them the same day around the same time on either ups or fedex. wii got ours this way tuesday. missed at the closest walmart then got the 5th out of the 6 they received at the next store.
You could ask some of the store managers. They may know the odds of being able to get one during the after Christmas sales.
now one is doing rainchecks. good luck finding a wii even after xmas. there wont be any sales so to speak of Wii’s, they’ll still and always will be 250 bux.
Wiis are not discounted and never will be. if you have the chance at a raincheck, take it! Otherwise, you will have to wait in line to get one. It will take months before you can get a wii without waiting in line in most places.
The Wii’s wont be cheaper or even come out in color for a long time.
If you do find one, you’re lucky. The last shipment of them to stores was on Sunday. Game Stops are actually giving out rainchecks sometime this month for a guaranteed Wii in January. Get out and get your pass quick! Go here to read more about it.

here are some good tips me and my family learned in the search for a wii.
1. go to a place like meijer because people don’t think to check places like meijer as apposed to gamestop when the fact is they get as many as gamestop or eb games. you have to find out when the delivery truck comes (probably like 6 in the morning, just ask all the people working there and someone will know) and get there earlier so you are the first one in line waiting for it. obviously, meijer may not have a wii for a while but eventually, if you NEVER skip a day in line, meijer will get 3 systems+all the crap that comes with it and you will be the first in line waiting so you are going to get one! the reason you can’t just walk in and buy one is because they don’t even hit the shelf’s they go so fast.
2. go to a place like meijer and slip the guy that puts the wiis on the shelf’s 20 or 40 bucks so he will save one for you and if you don’t get one before christmas, than too bad because it is really late to look for one.
