Getting Ready For Santa Claus’ visit

Christmas is the most exciting time of year for children and it is important that we parents do as much as we can to help them get the most out of it. The best way to do this is to create a schedule of daily activities that build up the tension. But hey, not too much tension – we don’t want them having a nervous breakdown or a heart attack icon smile Getting Ready For Santa Claus visit

If your child has already sent their letter to Santa put a copy on their bedroom wall. These days Santa is very hi-tech and he sends parents a text message when each present has been completed by the elves in his workshop at the North Pole. Each time you get a message from Santa show your child and then tick it off on the list together.

Hi-tech Santa has also put a tracking device on his sleigh so he can be followed on radar as he travels around the world on Christmas Eve. This is such an important event that the American and Canadian governments have taken on the responsibility for it. The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) posts all the details of Santa’s global travels here

Back to the very low tech. A piece of paper and crayons is all you need to make a “Sleeps Countdown Calendar”. Just write down the number of nights remaining till Christmas Day. Every bedtime discuss how many sleeps there are until Santa arrives and cross them off one by one.

On Christmas Eve, don’t forget to put the milk and cookies out for Santa and his reindeers. Put Santa’s milk in a glass and the reindeers’ in a bowl. You don’t have to put much milk because millions of childen all over the world are doing the same so the reindeers only take a little sip. The reindeers love it when they get personalized cookies so put a piece of paper with a different reindeer’s name on it under each cookie. Just in case you don’t remember all their names – Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixon, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph.

Also kids, when you hang up your Christmas stocking before you go to bed don’t forget to put a little note inside saying thank you to Santa and his elves. It would be nice to send your regards to Mrs Santa as well because she spends her Christmas Eve all alone waiting by her fireside for Santa to return safe and sound.

On Christmas morning people say they often see reindeer footprints in a little area of snow outside their front door. Sometimes, it’s really amazing because this happens in hot countries like Australia too. This is a very special Reindeer snow that looks and tastes just like powdered sugar.

So now you’re all set to have the most exciting Christmas ever!
